This performance was the first time I ever heard _I Will Follow._ It was on the free video I redeemed with my U2 iPod; the video was called _Love U2_ and consisted of a half-hour of interviews & live performances, this one being the second. I got my first guitar for my birthday, haven gotten the iPod for Christmas a month before, so when I heard the riff was only two notes, I thought: "I can play this." So I learned the song & the rest is history.

I moved out of the area I grew up in that played fusion til corporate radio took over and crashed the station. Before that happened, Chuck Loeb's music was on the KKSF airwaves all the time. Don’t know how I missed this one. Steely Dan was always a favorite group of mine throughout the 70s so when I caught this on the cable music channel today I looked it up here for the fun of it. What a great rendition. 👍

Normally I like TRG... a lot... but it was really sad to watch their self-absorbed fascination with the camera. Embarrassing. And I could be wrong, but this did not look or sound live. I think it was lip-synced.
I think this is live performance. At least this sounds different from CD.
4 years late, but actually this video is unique for the real group in the fact everything is *not* perfectly in tune. So yes this is live. To me it also indicates that in their usual live shows they have to process the voices somewhat to achieve the results they get - which is so perfectly in tune it's disturbing. So, for some of the stuff they release, you might be right... Except for this video, which makes it pretty ironic you bring it up. That being said, the audio might be slightly out of sync with the visuals, but that'd not be a first with these older videos. Besides that, even without much voice processing, their performance is still top tier considering how technical this piece is.
